Air Flow Solutions

With today's servers generating more heat output, keeping the data centre cool and operating efficiently is a major consideration. These heat generating servers are often packed into smaller footprints that require more cooling capacity. Additional cooling capacity typically comes from adding more cooling units, which is expensive. A better solution is to reclaim lost cooling capacity before adding more. This can be achieved by sealing unmanaged openings that are wasting cold air and ensuring cold air is directed to where it is needed most - Cooling Your Servers.

Poorly cooled data centres often suffer from hotspots that can lead to equipment failure. Also cooling equipment may not be working as efficiently as it could. The MPL Group is an approved re-seller for the KoldLok range of products. This is a range of specially designed raised-floor grommets designed to seal cutouts within the raised-floor and stop cold air from escaping, whilst still allowing cables to pass through. The KoldLok raised-floor grommets are static disappative and prevent static discharges being carried up the cables. By sealing cutouts within the raised-floor, cooling the data centre environment is drastically improved.

Other measures can be taken to make sure that the data centre is being cooled effectively. KoldLok offers the KoldCheck service. In this service an expert will analyse your data centre's cooling and produce a report of recommendations on how to improve the cooling of the data centre. The KoldTune service will then implement the required changes.

Integral
	The Integral raised-floor grommet is designed for new installations and fits into the raised-floor tiles prior to the installation of the cabinets.

Split Integral
	The Split Integral raised-floor grommet is ideal for new installations on the edge of floor tiles. This raised-floor grommet is in two halves and allows the cables to be removed.

Surface Mounted
	Surface Mounted KoldLok raised-floor grommets are ideal for existing installations, and because they are in two halves there is no need to disconnect any cables.

Surface Mounted L & XL Series
	Surface Mounted L & XL raised-floor grommets are designed to fit existing larger openings and effectively seals openings up to 10" x 13" (250mm x 330mm)

Extended
	The Extended series is designed to fit and seal cutouts against walls or, when two are used together, they can seal half a floor tile.
